“The Great Bambino” makes an appearance in 2012: A Movie a Day for the second consecutive day (The Sandlot), this time played byJohn Goodman in The Babe.
I remember when The Babe was originally released. I REALLY wanted to see it in the theater, but I didn’t, then the movie came to TV very quickly. It seemed much more quickly than any movie I remember, maybe not, though. I was young.
I remember enjoying the movie a lot.
As I watched again today, I wasn’t as impressed as I remember when I was a kid. There is some good entertainment to be had, but the film is full of inaccuracies and seems to be missing something, but then again, what do you expect from a movie than spans more than thirty years.
RECOMMENDATION
If you are a baseball fan, New York Yankees fan, Boston Red Sox fan or a Babe Ruth fan, you will definitely want to see this film… For the casual movie-goer, it’s a toss-up.
The Babe is rated 5.7/10 on IMDB and is 50% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
