The Tree of Life of documentaries” – I stole that from my new Twitter friend, Peggy Logan Gartin‘s Pinterest Oscars Board.

Another “A Movie a Day” bonus! Pina is a film, by Wim Wenders dedicated to German performer and choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in 2009.

The film was shot in 3D, although I only saw in it traditional 2D.

To be quite honest, I know nothing about dance and a minimal amount about theater, but was very enthralled in many different portions of the film, wishing I had been able to see the film in 3D.

Pina is nominated for a Best Feature Length Documentary Oscar, and is my upset pick to win the statue.

If you are a theater or dance enthusiast, Pina is a must-see… and I would recommend Pina to 3D to anyone who has the opportunity.

Pina has a 7.6/10 rating on IMDB, is 95% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes an has a 83/100 Metascore.
