With a little more than half an hour remaining until the MLB trade deadline, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports is reporting the Cincinnati reds are now interested in Jonathan Broxton. 2:16pm:

Rosenthal has also stated that the Texas Rangers are no longer in talks with the Royals regarding Broxton, although other teams are still interested.


2:27pm – Rosenthal now reports the Reds have acquired Broxton from the Royals. Official announcement and confirmation still pending.

2:46pm – Mark Serrano, Double-A pitcher in Pensocola with the Reds, tweeted:

Congrats to teammate @JCSulbaran on getting traded to the Royals. Tear it up bruh.

 JC Sulbaran, RHP, was the #9 prospect in the Reds organization according to Baseball America. Sulbaran has a 7-7 record with a 4.04 ERA and 1.481 WHIP in 19 starts and 109.2 IP.

Donnie Joseph, LHP reliever, is 8-3 with a 1.72 ERA in 2012. The 24 year-old has a .994 WHIP and 18 saves between double and triple-A in 2012 with 11.7 SO/9 and 2.BB/9 for a 4.00 SO/BB.
