Again today on the the baseball trend, and another movie about the 1919 “Black Sox” scandal, today I watched Field of Dreams. I remember seeing this movie as a kid, and remember that many people thought of Field of Dreams as an instant classic.

An Iowa farmer (Kevin Costner), a former hippie, hears voices in his corn field. Ray follows the advice of the voices that lead him on a journey that bring the 1919 White Sox back from their graves, including “Shoeless Joe” Jackson (Ray Liotta), re-inspires one of the greatest novelists of the 1960s (James Earl Jones) and gives an old man another chance to play with the big-leaguers.

RECOMMENDATION

One of the best baseball movies ever made, with a nice twist from the true baseball movie. If you haven’t seen Field of Dreams… I’m not sure how…

Field of Dreams is rated 7.6/10 on IMDB and is 88% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
