Well, I know I cannot expect to jump right in and create an animation from day 1. The first step, learning the controls.
Last night I found a pretty good YouTube user (DigitalArtsGuild) who makes very solid Maya videos, so I followed his Maya Tutorial: Basics 5 part intro to the controls of Maya.
In the end, we created a 3D cartoony ice cream cone. It was much more difficult than I thought to shape the ice cream into a non-symmetrical shape, but still make it look like an ice cream cone… and I’m not even sure I did a great job with it.
But, gotta start somewhere, right? Practice means perfect… and any other cliché I can throw at it!
No animation, just a 3d rendering. This is going to be more difficult than I thought… Well, that’s kind of a lie. I expect it to be immensely difficult.
Nice screen name, Greg!
Is it animated yet?
